I put this out there as a thread
Is it worthy of a post?
We were eating supper in our screened porch. A tiny bird hit a nearby window and thunked to the ground. I went to it with a dinner napkin, to turn it over, maybe hold it, and hope. I saw its brave breast make some small heaves, and a blinking eye. When I did pick her up, the tiny neck bent too far, too easily. I placed her in the garden near the back fence, on the patrol route of our neighborly cats. But after supper I walked back there with a small shovel, and placed her in the ground. Before I did, the shovel found a newly buried green walnut. I left both in the ground, and covered them with loose black soil.

Poor bird but in loving hands. In my previous home, a large window meant occasional hits by birds. Most often, when we saw it happen, I could retrieve the bird and hold it gently to keep it warm so it didn't go into shock. When it revive,d it would take flight. Good on you for trying. His eye is on the sparrow.
