Today I placed copies of my book at the Storyteller’s Bookstore in Windsor. Linda, the owner, is very keen to support local writers.
After we completed the paperwork to consign the books for sale, Linda asked me to sign them. She likes to sell signed copies of books from local writers.
That’s still a new thing for me. I grew up with a high regard for books- especially the ones on sale in a bookshop. Is it okay to “deface” these unblemished copies?
There was another important ritual to complete before I left the store. Linda has a corner for a comfy wing back chair, upholstered in a fabric printed with pictures of books.
Linda asked me to pose with a (signed) copy of The Book of Answers, in the Author’s chair.
Eric Renaud, another local author there to place his book, took the above photo for me.
Here is Eric, taking his turn in the chair. We both got the memo about the black shirt tan pants dress code.
Wow…that must make this whole “author” thing seem so much more real! How exciting for you
What fun!!!
