My way of sharing, and getting the word out
learning how to tell people about my book
The School for Contemplative Living describes itself as “A School Without Walls”
In a world increasingly broken and divided by hatred and violence, shrill voices and conflicting directions, there is a school that strives to teach another way. It is "a school without walls" building bridges of understanding, cultivating contemplation,
teaching practices of prayer, nurturing inner peace, strengthening the soul, centering the spirit, promoting unity, practicing oneness, demonstrating love in stillness and simplicity, companioning the seeker in small groups, auditoriums, hospitals, colleges, prisons, churches sanctuaries, on the streets, at the shelters, in the soup kitchens, beyond the boundaries and barriers, which have for so long separated the souls of humankind.
The School for Contemplative Living founded and directed by Dr. William Thiele, has for over a decade offered small groups, workshops, classes, retreats, spiritual direction, and an annual conference to help transform lives through the practices and principles of centering prayer, meditation, sacred yoga, compassion cultivation, and the contemplative tradition.

In 2017 I emailed Dr. William Thiele to ask if I could attend an SCL workshop, and also shadow him for a few days to learn about his work. He was very encouraging, and gracious in his response, and even helped me find affordable accommodation in New Orleans.
Since then I have stayed connected to the SCL, and greatly value the work they do in our world. I attended their annual conferences in 2017, which afforded me the privilege of meeting one of my favourite authors in the field of spirituality, Fr. Richard Rohr.
I pledged half the royalties from September sales of The Book of Answers to the School for Contemplative Living. William invited me to sit in on some of the school’s online groups to talk about my book, my plan to make the donation, and my reasons for wanting to support the school.
Members of both online groups went on to buy the book, and one group chose to read it as part of their online study. I was invited to sit in on the meeting when they discussed the book, which was great fun!
I have found this to be a great way to let people know about the book, and to also make contributions to organizations whose work I value.
Wonderful way and thank you for information on this school without walls. I experienced in person Richard Rohr at the Alcyon Center in Downeast Maine (and of course ongoingly in the CAC daily readngs)
