Reluctant Sleuth as Cat-Whisperer

no, we are not keeping any of them.

We have some unhoused cats in our neighbourhood. I hesitate to call them feral, because if you are patient they are approachable. One mama, a sleek and shiny black cat has a new litter, that based on the “how old is that kitten” website, I am guessing were born 5-6 weeks ago.

They live under a flowering bush in our backyard, alongside the neighbour’s fence.

We’ve borrowed a cat carrier, and made an appointment for the little ones to be taken in by the local humane society. We are also making arrangments for mama cat to be examined, spayed and tagged.

In preparation for the day I have to get the kitties into the carrier, I have been spending time with them, with the hope of making them comfortable with the large non-cat that is in their space. Food and shiny things help with the process.
