I'd say check it out. It's a natural synergy. I am loving the sense of community I experience when I go to Linda's store.

Love my local bookstore. Wonder if the owner would like to host a writers group. Hmm.

Great post and especially for today. We have several independents in our area ... but I won't name them because your readers are not coming here ... that curious place to the south of you which somehow has a tariff-mad oligarch for a leader and no Canadians are visiting. But I love my local "writers night out" in which we share work, some drink local ale while I drink NA beer and and learn so much from each other.

What a great story! Coincidentally, we found a new Independent Bookstore on Wednesday, last, in Chatham. I had to go there for training as I am working as a DRO in the election, Monday the 28th. Book Brothers (http://www.bookbrothers.ca/) After a tough morning, it was a delight to have a wonderful coffee and then go down and stroll the aisles for books. Even though, we too, are "downsizing" books don't take up much room and they contribute so much to our mental health, that we indulged ourselves. Jeff found an incredibly informative book on watercolours that am learning so much from. One of my dreams for retirement was to own a bookstore (with some yarn thrown in for good measure) ... With your suggestion and our new found treasure, I guess I can just keep them going and enjoy my time learning to paint. Be well! and write on!

I've heard about Book Brothers, but have yet to visit. There is another cool bookstore/cafe in downtown Chatham called Turns and Tales.
