The police world, at least as I am experiencing it does seem to have a lot of masculine energy. It is interesting though, that the Inspector that is our local commander and several key staff sergeants are highly accomplished, and respected women. I attended a badging ceremony recently for some newly promoted sergeants, and it included a catered lunch for their families, and a dessert potluck. The desserts were all provided (and mostly homemade) by command staff.
So glad to have you back ... excited about the second story ... not in a building. Happy to read more of Tom but also welcome a new cast, however it goes. And thanks for the chaplaincy. It is a gift. I did not have the opportunity and my last two churches had parishioners who had served sentences in prison and I thought might be uncomfortable ... but honestly, I think that most police officers I know are more comfortable with a man if there is one willing. Maybe that "shouldn't" be true but it is and the important thing of caring.
